argh. My KJS is STILL "Awaiting presentation to customs commissioner" !!!!
I called Poslaju yesterday and the guy said that it won't be delivered till next week.
I wouldn't be so worried if I knew that I could trust the local postal service but with all the horror stories... To be sure I haven't personally experienced lost or damaged contents with EMS, only that one time when CDJ didn't update my shipping address when I told them to.
But how convenient it is that my package with a shiny new toy arrives in-country on early Friday morning and conveniently has to languish in Customs over a weekend. There BETTER NOT BE FINGERPRINTS ON IT when I get it.

- 12:54 Next week is going to be exciting. Not that this week isn't. Am booked for so many special songs. Hahaha. #
Now the problem is with my character design class. My lecturer likes cute, anime-ish characters and I...don't. Almost every guy in class are drawing cute girls and the girls are either drawing cute guys or cute girls. So for our assignment, we're supposed to draw a demihuman character. Almost everyone drew catgirls or fairies and stuff. I drew a devil and my lecturer...didn't seem as encouraging as she was compared to the others.
Girl A : Sensei, how is this?
Sensei : Kawaii, kawaii!
Sensei : Kawaii! Good design!
Boy A : Really? Thank you.
Sensei : *stares*
Me : Sensei, how is it?
Sensei : Hmm...there's nothing wrong.
I call this discrimination.

然而我已经找不到来时的路
好多事情当时一点也不觉得苦
就算是苦我想我也不会在乎
提着昨日种种千辛万苦
向明天换一些美满和幸福
不愿让你看见我的伤处
是曾经无悔的风雨无阻
I'm working at Loud Voice Media, a Seventh-Day Adventist Media company that produces mainly Chinese/Bilingual media for broadcast and dvd. :) It's been around 8 months since I came here to Malacca, where the company is based, and I've done design-related things ranging from character design to motion graphics and editing, and even teaching Photoshop classes.
Needless to say, I've learnt how to use quite a few new software, like Motion and Final Cut, and more on the operation of video cameras and directing than I learnt in polytechnic. I've also developed a rather keen interest in nature photography (to the extent of ignoring my poor dear boys *sighs*).
Any more questions? Interested applicants can apply below. :D Question Meme is here.

It's a raglan sleeve dress, and it's pretty easy to sew and quite versatile.
And for anyone looking for cute fabric, I'm going to recommend you try Nagoya Textiles at Carrefour Subang (next to Subang Parade). I didn't find small strawberry prints, but I did find other stuff: ( pic under here )

Everyone has things they blog about. Everyone has things they don't blog about. Challenge me out of my comfort zone by telling me something I don't blog about, but you'd like to hear about, and I'll write a post about it. Ask for anything, anything at all. Repost in your own journal so that we can all learn more about each other.

Also, in love with Lady Gaga's bold and eccentric performance in this video.
What a ride!
A Sufi was once engaged in prayer, when his cell caught fire. He did not stop praying for one moment. Afterwards, people asked him about this. He replied: The divine fire held my attention, so I could not attend to the fire in my cell.
- Qushayri, "Risalah"
Rejoice in sorrow; it will unite you with God. Bow down and reach the highest peak. Turn inward, toward the heart, and delight in the green shade of trees and many gushing springs.
- Rumi, "Mathnawi"
When clutches of the "self" break away, they clap their hands and break into dance as their imperfections fade away. The musicians within strike the tambourine, and the seas burst into foam at their ecstasy.
- Rumi, "The Life and Thought of Rumi"
There is a key for everything, and the key to Paradise is to love the poor.
- The Prophet Muhammad (SAW), as reported by Ibn Umar
To learn the secret of the Unseen is only fitting for that one who can seal her lips and keep silent.

(I sounded retarded. Was very zonked out. Apologies.)
Then maybe, I'd go to IKEA and find those things that I need to squeeze all my stuffs in. Then maybe I'd sit down and eat those meatballs that I've been talking for months.
Then maybe, I'd do some shopping.
Maybe.
No maybe.
I'd just spend another weekend.
Alone.
We got up to NJ and had a good time. We went to get Pizza Twists from South Jersey and were able to meet some of my uncle's friends. I would like to explain that this uncle is my dad's younger brother and I tend to look at him as an older brother rather than an uncle. We get along a lot more like siblings than uncle/niece. It was very nice to get to hang out and introduce him to new geeky shows like FM (British TV show starring Chris O' Dowd) and The Guild.
Grammy's memory is getting really bad, but she still remembers us. Unfortunately, her short term memory is completely gone. She can't remember something you tell her at all. Once you get through with the sentence she has pretty much already forgotten what you said and asks again. While we were up there she was also convinced that her mother was dying and she was going to have to call the family to let them know about the funeral. She was crying herself to sleep about it the last few nights we were up there. Her mother has been dead for twenty-one years now, so the Alzheimer's is in full force.
It makes me so angry that nature has created ways for our bodies and minds to turn against us when we get older. It's cruel. She was always such a strong, vibrant, kind and patient woman. She helped raise my sister and me and has been a huge part of my life. It just feels so unfair to see her mind deteriorate while her body remains generally healthy for a woman her age. She has to suffer this fear of losing herself. The days she has clear patches, she is sad and frustrated because she knows what is happening and can't stop it.
Anyway, enough sadness and ranting. Overall, the trip was really good and I was glad to see my grandmother again before she gets to the point where she can't remember me at all.
